Audit. 2B

Digital design and fabrication hold tremendous potential for learning. The technologies enable more access to the deep ideas underlying the curriculum as well as felicitous opportunities for the development of essential socio-emotional characteristics.

Achieving the potential benefits for all students is not merely a matter of installing a lab. Not only must we develop new materials, but we also need to develop new models for schooling based on computation and fab.

We will investigate:
What is now possible?
What are the deep ideas in learning through digital design and fabrication?
How to connect the making to the learning?
What do we need to do to bring such powerful learning potential to all students everywhere?
What are the primary obstacles to enabling such powerful environments for all?
What are the best strategies for implementation in and transformation of learning environments?
What new models for learning through making can we develop?
