ROOM 8
Kickstarter offers designers, makers, and engineers a unique opportunity to connect with an audience and raise funds to bring their projects to life. We’ll hear from Zach Dunham, Design and Technology Outreach Lead, about best practices for crafting a great campaign and building community on Kickstarter.
We'll begin by looking at several recent Kickstarter digital fabrication campaigns, from waterjet cutters to digital knitting machines, and look at how the founders built a following around their idea, and shared their stories. Then we'll explore the core steps involved in planning, building, and managing your own Kickstarter campaign.
After attending this session, attendees will be able to:
- Develop a plan for a Kickstarter campaign
- Create an outline for a campaign story
- Identify assets to bring a product to life
- Build a plan for community and press outreach
