Doctoral consortium of digital fabrication and soft prototyping provides an opportunity for doctoral students and young researchers to explore and develop their research interests as well as share experience in the academy around digital fabrication, surfaces, organic materials, bio-inspired design, machines and the implications of Human Computing Interaction (HCI). This consortium encourages participants to discuss the development of educational strategies through making and to think how these practices can guide new approaches in digital fabrication that encompasses the impact of today's prototyping. We invite students who feel they would benefit from this kind of feedback on their dissertation work to apply for this unique opportunity to share their work with students in a similar situation as well as senior researchers in the field. While we encourage applications from students at any stage of doctoral training, the doctoral consortium will benefit most the students who are in the process of forming or developing their doctoral research. Participation of students from all over the world and especially from latin american countries is hoped.
