We want to form working groups around needs expressed by the converging education and digital fabrication communities, especially as related to the transition from informal to formal education uses of digital fabrication. We will discuss goals and pathways forward, covering topics and needs expressed to us thus far such as:
- Professional development for teachers
- Learning and tools and processes
- Modeling and developing a framework for curriculum integration (adding pedagogy and methodology)
- Implementation of on site modeling and kickstarting a change in mindset and approach (Educators create content for themselves. Guide them- by creating a program together to start and to model the experience.)
- Curriculum and activity development
- Train people to run school labs
- Cultural connections (EMOSILLA)-- how do we document and encourage cross-cultural experiences? (connecting schools and students in different countries)
- Fab Kids-- informal to formal (could be a platform for experimentation with the all of the above in mind).
